The formal opening of Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel on April 28

The completion of Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel was the first step in the 1 billion EEK investment planned for 2009 by the Tallinn-based companies of Mr A. Kofkin, in the course of which 280 new jobs will be created. In addition to the hotel, a fast food chain will be opened next week, in June, Café Mademoiselle and Bistro Mary will be opened in Metro Plaza, and a food processing plant will be opened in Kopli. An Old Town hotel with 50 rooms and restaurants at Pikk Street 33 will be completed by Christmas.
Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel adds several restaurants, a aqua- and sauna center, spa center and conference center to the service range of Meriton Hotels Group. According to the Managing Director Mr Weisl, merging of Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel and Meriton Grand Hotel Tallinn will create a synergy that provides excellent work and holiday conditions for the clients.
Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel is open to visitors already from April 23.
The hotel is operated by Meriton Hotels Group OÜ. Meriton Hotels Group also includes Meriton Grand Hotel Tallinn (Toompuiestee 27) and Meriton Old Town Hotel (Lai Street 49) in Tallinn, and Villa Mary in Viimsi.
The complex was built by Skanska EMV AS.
The architects were Pia Tasa and Katrin Birk from the architecture firm EA Reng AS. The interior was designed by Raul Tiitus from the design company Pink.
The hotel comprises 301 rooms, including 280 standard rooms, 12 family rooms and 9 suites. Cultural heritage is well appreciated – all carpets on the hotel floors are based on patterns derived from the national costumes of different parts of Estonia. Also the uniforms of the reception staff are inspired by national costumes.
The hotel’s up-to-date conference center comprises 8 conference halls, the largest of which accommodates up to 380 people. As a whole, the center accommodates 1000 people. All halls are equipped with modern equipment, and the whole building is covered by wireless Internet.
Inside the hotel there is Café Mademoiselle with pies and cakes baked on the spot, the Asian restaurant Wok & Grill with an open kitchen, Bistro Mary, White Piano Bar with live music, and Buddha Bar.
The aqua- and sauna center on the ground floor has an active pool equipped with massaging shower heads and a countercurrent water jet, a relaxation pool with massage beds, and a wide selection of different saunas. The second floor is occupied by a beauty salon, treatment rooms and a sports club.
