Turkish Food Festival in Meriton
Meriton Hotels in co-operation with Turkish Embassy in Estonia, will organise from May 11 to 24. Turkish Food Festival that is held in Meriton Conference & Spa hotel Tallinn. During this period everybody is invited to taste Turkish food in Cafe Mademoiselle and in Bistro Mary.
Turkish Food Festival was opened with festive gala dinner at May 10th. Turkish embassy helped with a chef from Turkey, mr Naif Bağı, who helped to prepare the dishes for a gala and gave tips to Meriton chefs how to cook Turkish food. Mr. Bağı is executive chef in 5-star hotel Ramada Plaza Izmit, Kocaeli Izmit, in Turkey.
“During the gala were served the following dishes - Mezzeplatter as a starter with chicken with walnuts, lentil patties, stuffed vine leaves and hot tomato salad, pastry filled with pastrami as a secong course. Main course was lamb on smoked aubergine puree, followed by Turkish Desserts – kazandibi – irmik helva – tulumba and real Turkish coffee and lokum”, said Meriton Hotels head chef Ragmar Haabma.
He also added that to prepare the real Turkish dishes, some of the ingredients were brought in directly from Turkey. Wines served were from Turkish Diren winery.
„The dinner was also feature a live performance by Turkish musicians. Classical Turkish Music was performed by Mr. Tahir Aydoğdu (Kanun), Mrs. İpek Dereli (Tanbour) and Mr. Gürdal İnal (Violin). Musician arrival to Tallinn was organised by Turkish Foreign Ministery,“ said ambassador of Turkey H.E. Ayşenur Alpaslan.
